Online test — Part 1: Judgment scenarios (most / least)
Each scenario offers four responses; you pick the one you are MOST likely to give and the one you are LEAST likely to give. Candidates report situations such as prioritizing a heavy workload, a disengaged teammate, a tight deadline as a new hire, a cross-functional team with too many ideas, an outside report of an error, many coworkers needing help at once, extra responsibilities and giving a peer feedback. Several match the scenarios candidates report from Bank of America's battery. There is no official key; the consistent pattern is to prioritize by impact, investigate before reacting and raise problems early.
Online test — Part 2: Information-security simulation
A short work simulation: you handle requests and emails in a fictional company, with a Resources tab holding the organization chart, the document-sharing policy and the staff directory. Questions ask who must approve sharing a document, whether an email is a phishing attempt (an outside domain, a malformed address) and how to handle requests to send files to personal email. The answers come from the Resources tab, so read it rather than guessing from common sense.

Online test — Part 3 + 4: Self-assessment and statement pairs
Thirteen self-ratings (learning habits, performance compared with others, computer skills, how long you expect to stay) and 55 statement pairs where you choose which is more like you, with a 'most' or 'somewhat' strength. The pairs cover growth mindset and persistence, planning versus spontaneity, pace, going beyond your duties and adaptability, and include candour checks such as 'I have never made a mistake at work' or 'I have never disliked anyone'. Treat absolute statements with suspicion and stay consistent.
One-way video interview — 3 questions (2027 sitting)
Candidates report three prompts tied to Shell's values: a time you asked for feedback or advice and what you learned about yourself; a time you worked with someone who had a different opinion and how you managed it; and why Shell, framed by its Powering Progress strategy. Each answer gets 3 minutes and you can re-record as often as you like.
